Information pursuant to art. 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679
In accordance with Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 laying down provisions on data protection, we would like to inform you that the personal data you voluntarily provide to the Department of Statistical Sciences (University of Padua) will be processed by the Department by taking the appropriate measures to ensure security and confidentiality, in compliance with the aforementioned legislation.
1. Purposes and methods of data processing
1.1 Navigation data
The computer systems responsible for the operation of the site acquire, in their daily operation, some personal data that are transmitted implicitly in the use of web communication protocols. These data, if processed with data held by third parties, could identify users/ visitors. These are for example IP addresses and domain names of computers used by users/visitors that connect to the website. These personal data are normally collected for statistical analysis, managed anonymously and used to facilitate navigation on the website.
1.2 Online services and platforms
For Unipd members, the access to the online platforms and services is made available by the Department through institutional credentials provided by the University and protected by the centralized access control system called Single Sign On (SSO), always using the same pair of credentials (login and password) generated for the management of the University mailbox (@unipd.it or @studenti.unipd.it). The technology used for the Single Sign On service is Shibboleth (https://wiki.shibboleth.net/confluence/display/CONCEPT). User credentials are not accessible, even in encrypted form, by service providers and web and mobile applications, as the identification process always takes place within the authentication system of the University, based on Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) protocol.
1.3 Cookies
The website use tracking cookies, short strings of text that are sent from the server of the website to the browser of the user/ visitor of the website and are automatically saved on the PC of the user/ visitor. The purpose is to carry out statistical analysis for the only purpose of improving the offer of services and therefore it is recommended to configure your browser in order to accept them. Almost all browsers are set to accept cookies, however the user/visitor can autonomously change the configuration of his browser and block cookies (see section 1.2.2 "How to disable cookies (opt-out)").
1.3.1 Tracking cookies
Monitoring cookies can be disabled without any consequence on the navigation of the website. The website can make use of the Google Analytics service of the company Google, Inc. (hereinafter "Google") for the generation of statistics on the use of the website; Google Analytics uses cookies that do not store personal data. The information obtained from cookies on the use of the website by users (including IP addresses) is transmitted by the user’s browser to Google, based at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States, and filed at the company’s own servers.
In accordance with the current terms of service, Google will use this information, as an independent controller, for the purpose of tracking and examining the use of the website, compiling reports on the activities of the website for the use of the operators of the site and providing other services related to the activities of the website, to the way to connect (mobile, pc, browser used, etc.) and to the way to search and reach the pages of the website. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate IP addresses with any other data held by Google.

1.3.2 How to disable cookies (opt-out)
You can deny consent to the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate setting on your browser. 1.4 Purposes and data storage
The data collected are processed exclusively for statistical analysis or to enrich the browsing experience, and in any case for the only purpose of improving the offer of services, and for the minimum time necessary to perform the service.
1.5 Data processing
The processing will be carried both manually and with the help of electronic or automated means, and include, in compliance with the limits and conditions set by the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679, collection, registration, organization, storage, consultation, processing, modification, selection, extraction, comparison, use, interconnection, blocking, dissemination, communication, deletion and destruction of data.

2. Communication and dissemination of data
The data collected will not be disclosed or communicated to third parties, except in the cases provided for by the information and/or law and, in any case, in the manner permitted by this.
The data may be known to the data controllers or persons in charge of processing, within the scope of their respective functions and in accordance with the instructions received, only for the achievement of the specific purposes indicated in this statement.

With regard to such data, you can exercise all the rights provided by the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 by sending an email to segreteria@cab.unipd.it
